The Trail from Prilep to Treskavec Monastery

Gateway to Infinity

There are places on Earth that, from the very first step, manifest their readiness to open up entirely new dimensions of consciousness for us.

Every time I stood on Markovi Kuli and ventured further into this region, I distinctly felt the inviting, living energy of the unfolding mountain-rock space. Markovi Kuli turns out, in truth, to be a wide gateway to a magnificent landscape that is visually stunning and remarkably pure in its energy.

A seven-kilometre march through this cosmic, rocky environment acts as a powerful recharge for the energy field, bringing a deep, pure joy. I felt a solid, reassuring foundation beneath my feet alongside a simultaneous, boundless connection with the infinity above. I moved at a slow, mindful pace, admiring this incredible spectacle of nature step by step. The landscape, whilst gradually evolving within the same granite matter, revealed new and subtle shades with every passing moment.

The destination of my trek was Treskavec Monastery, perched beneath the peak of Zlatovrv at an altitude of over 1,200 metres above sea level. It is a place steeped in extraordinary mysticism. Emerging in the Middle Ages upon the foundations of an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Hera, it has attracted seekers of spiritual space for centuries. The ruggedness of the granite rocks, combined with the age-old history of this sanctuary, creates an exceptionally focused energy that lifts one's vibration and opens new perspectives.

When you finally reach the summit, as is customary after the exertion of the climb, entirely new expanses and breathtaking views over the whole Pelagonia valley unfold before you. At that moment, I felt immense gratitude and joy for encountering such a unique, power-filled place.

Late afternoon was approaching. Even though I was still full of strength and vibrational energy, a twist of fate led me back to town by car, courtesy of the extraordinary hospitality and kindness of some local Macedonian tourists I met.

The most touching aspect of this return journey was that the vehicle I stepped into was the exact same Astra model I had driven for over eight years in England. This small yet profoundly meaningful sign of synchronicity tied the entire expedition together in a loop of deep gratitude. It allowed me to appreciate those past years anew, reminding me how that faithful car accompanied and supported me through daily work and travels across England, always delivering me safely to every destination.

The mountains showed once again that they are not merely a terrain feature, but a living portal for sensing one's own identity, complete grounding, and gratitude for every stretch of our path.
